Four Global Consumption Experience Zones to Launch in Beijing

In 2024, Beijing will further optimize its commercial consumption spaces. It plans to launch four international consumption experience zones by combining Wangfujing Street, Xidan Commercial Street and Qianmen Street, CBD (the Central Business District) and Sanlitun, the Universal Beijing Resort and the Grand Canal, and Lize Financial Business District and the Capital New Business District. In the same year, 15 traditional business districts, including Xizhimen and Shuangjing, are set to get renovated, while more than 10 new commercial facilities will open, including Haidian Joy City, Wanda Plaza in Shahe Town of Changping District, and Mixc One's mall in the Beijing Municipal Administrative Center.

Beijing also has plans to develop the economy driven by first stores and the debut of new products. It will welcome about 800 first stores, flagship stores, and innovative concept stores while extending financial support for the opening of first stores and new product debuts. Retail brands opening their first stores will be eligible to receive up to CNY 5 million in financial support with new fashion product debuts eligible for a maximum of CNY 2 million.

The daily services closely related to people's everyday life will become more accessible. People will find what they need within a 15-minute walking distance. It is projected that 200 of such life circles will be formed by the end of this year.

Finally, Beijing plans to enhance the overall quality of its subway network by providing passengers with more thoughtful and convenient services. Convenience store chains have established their stores in 82 subway stations in Beijing. In 2024, the city will reach out to eligible subway stations to establish convenience stores and arrange intelligent vending machines offering snacks, beverages, cultural and art products, and more.
